                       NOVICE  4.5” STOCKCAR RACE RULES

 


BODY: All 4.5” JK Nascar .010" type bodies (no shortnose) in Nascar style only for vacform and 1990s Revell Monogram Monte Carlo, Pontiac, Thunderbird, Buick and Lumina ONLY for hardbody. Rear height of bumper not to exceed 1/2” from tech block. All bodies mounted with Velcro only and must be taped on for racing. All molded body lines must be present, ie., bumpers, grilles, etc. Tape is allowed ONLY at: front bumper- 1 strip, rear bumper- 1 strip, both sides- 1 strip at body mount only. Must resemble Stock car with 3 numbers and cluster decals. May not add any form of wing or tape, or anything to outside of body other than lane stickers. May use shoe-goo to reinforce hardbody and we recommend it. Door height must not be lower than 1-1/16" from top of door panel to bottom of chassis at all points on door. No raking of body. No modern or Fusion bodies allowed as there aren't enough to go around.

 

 

MOTOR: Proslot Stock 16D 2002 sealed only for vacform and Super 16d sealed 2003 motor for hardbody. No built motors. Shrink wrap must be clean and undamaged. No modifications allowed. No Bigfoot brushes. No aftermarket springs.

 

INTERIOR: Must be as full as car body allows. Complete interior with no more than 4 pieces of tape to hold it in.

 

TIRES: Any black rubber rear 7/8” (or .875) tires allowed. No big hubs. Must have scale size 13/16” front wheels & tires on 1/8” axle. May not exceed maximum width of 3-1/4” anywhere on car or tires.

 

GEARS: Any 31T crown gear with a 9-tooth only pinion.

 

AXLES: Stock axles in 1/8 only”

 

CHASSIS: Must be production stock commercially available out of the bag 4.5” GRC Brass pan chassis. May solder ONLY motor mount, and axle oilites. May not modify chassis from it’s stock form, ie., no stiffening, no extra soldering, or no drilling. ENTIRE CHASSIS must clear 1/16” tech tool from front to rear at the beginning of each heat. Do not bend your guide down as we will NOT pass it. Use our tech tool and block before the race for best results. May add stick-on lead weights as necessary to improve performance on Tri-oval track.

 

DURING THE RACE: No Driver changes. May not change body nor chassis setup. May change guide, tires, motor and other needed parts damaged by racing only. Motor will be re-teched at end of race. 1 piece of tape may be applied under the front wheelwell opening to correct race damage only. REMEMBER 1-strip only! If car body rips during the race to expose interior it will be black-flagged.

 There will be a 3-lap penalty for the following: Profanity, or throwing a controller or car during active racing. If you argue with the race director you will lose your Race Bucks and they will be given to next racer in line. Wait until AFTER the race to protest unless there is a track malfunction! No chemicals may be set on track. No gluing of track or excessive gluing of cars during racing. No spray chemicals or lighter fluid allowed!! Bring a friend to track marshall and always thank your track marshalls!
